TMT is an acronym for the phrase ‘thermo-mechanical treatment’. The Bureau of Indian Standards while issuing the code ISI: 1786-1985 (reaffirmed 2004) used this phrase while making reference to the ‘Technological advances during the last few years in the field of deformed bar production have helped in meeting all the above requirements together. Microalloying with Nb, V, Ti and B in combination or individually, and thermomechanical treatment process are worth mentioning in this field’ in para 0.2.1 of its FOREWORD

TMT Bars HYQST(High Yield Quenched and Self Tempered) through METCS (Morgan Enhanced Temperature Control System)Process developed by Morgan USA and MECTHERM Process (Rapid Water Quenching System) developed by MECON LIMITED . This gives the bar excellent ductility, bendability and also high strength.

The quality of TMT bar depends on major factors like quality raw materials, a properly designed and automated mill, and a well-designed quenching and tempering technology. All bars are purchased based on the properties of yield strength, tensile strength and elongation values.

CRS Rebars

CRS TMT Re-Bars have been exposed to very rigorous corrosion mediums and evaluated for various corrosion resistant properties as per ASTM standard viz. Immersion Test, Salt Spray Test, Exposure Test, Dioxide Test and Dynamic Test. The result of such corrosion tests indicated that CRS TMT Re-bars are having corrosion resistant index (CRI) of 1:7min as compared to CRI of normal TMT Re-Bars
